• Cat's name:Butterfly • Gender: She-cat • Age: 24 Moons • Clan: RiverClan • Rank: Medecine Cat
• Picture:
• Short Description: A pretty mottled tabby with a deep love for butterflys and her Clanmates.
• Description: She is a beautiful mostly white she cat. Starting around her shoulder blades brown tabby wisps star forming, growing thick around her head. Her right ear is completely brown while her left is only half brown. Her eyes are a clear hazel-green that take in everything around her her. All four of her paws are snow-white. Her nose is the soft pink of one who spends much time looking up, softened by the sun. It is velvet to the touch an unharmed by scares or spots.
• Personality: She is a kind cat at heart who holds only her Clan's interests at heart. She will do anything, include giving her own life, to be sure her Clan is safe. She holds her ancestors and leader in the highest respect. Galaxyfur is one of her best friends and he has helped her through many hard times including the death of her mentor. She is not one to mourn long however and spends all of her free time looking for new ways to help her Clan. She has an incredible fascination with butterfly's earning her her name. She believes they are her connection to StormClan because of their bright colours and patterns and that they only come out in sunny weather. Due to this, StormClan often send their messages to her in forms of butterfly's. It both pleases and strengthens her belief.
• History: She was born as Butterkit, originally named for her sleekness, like her fur was covered in something slick like butter. It became evident the day she set paw out of the nursery that she would become a medicine cat. The first thing she did was head for a patch of leaves. Seeing the large black cat she knew to be the medic, she promptly asked him what it was. He smiled and informed her all about the plant while she sat listening intently. She was only distracted by the soft fluttering wing of a butterfly.
Five moons later she was proudly named as Butterpaw, medicine Cat apprentice to Blackberry. Her mother died a week later of greencough. Distraught, Butterpaw vowed never to let another cat die under her watch and she has been one of the best medicine cats the forest has seen in ages. She has discovered new plants and ways to use them to help sick cats.
When she was nineteen moons old, an unknown disease spread through the camp. Fortunately, Butterpaw, now named Butterfly for her constant fascination with the creatures, had studied the symptoms and knew what the antidote was. Unfortunately, it only grew at the top of the tallest tree in the forest. Blackberry, being the strong and dedicated cat he was climbed to the top. Once he reached the summit he grabbed a mouthful of the leaves and dropped them down to her. He started down but lost his footing *Pawing?* and slipped, falling to his death.
She carried his body back to the camp. Later she returned for the leaves; they had been blown away. She was no faced with a challenge. Either she climbs the tree and risks death herself, leaving her Clan without a medicine cat, or she doesn't climb and three-quarters of her Clan -possibly more- die from this epidemic.
She scoured the territory looking for the lost leaves but when she couldn't find them she did the only thing she could and climbed the tree.
Trying her best to keep from thinking of Blackberry and his tragic end she started her descent. This was it. She was where he had been when he fell. She had been about to make the same mistake he had when she felt something light brush against her footpaw. Not daring to look down she followed it and found a paw-hold. Her guide continued to show her the holds she needed to reach the ground safely. Once she had finished she found who had been helping her. A black butterfly with peculiar purple eyes and markings as if he had been splashed with purple juice fluttered around her head before taking off. She couldn't help but smile as the sweet scent of her mentor faded.
She returned to camp and saved every sick cat from death.
• Family: Blackberry~ Mentor Solidstripe~ Mother Shadowstalker~ Brother Boneclaw~ Best Friend
• Role playing example: **It's just the event described in her past. I didn't know what else to write about so...** The huge tree stood daunting above her. She had climbed high things before. Great StormClan she had been to the tip of the Lightingspire and back many times but this was different. Not only was it five times taller than the rocky mountain but it was also the death place of her beloved mentor. Blackberry had been the bravest cat she knew to climb that tall tree, only to fall and be killed.
How could she be so stupid? She should never have let him go up there. Even so, she should have grabbed the leaves and taken them back at the same time as she did his body. She yelled mentally at herself. Blackberry had died in vain! But she would not make the same mistake he had. She would get the leaves and come back alive. Her Clan needed her.
She unsheathed her claws and started upward. The going was easy at first. She had spent plenty of time climbing trees so she could get better looks at butterfly's or leaves or other herbs. The branches hung low at this level and she made great time for the first third of the tree. But then the branches grew further apart until there where no more branches. This is where it got difficult.
She took a deep breath before starting for the middle third of the tree. This stretch was much slower but she took her time. Better to be home late than dead. She had started at moon-high and reach the top of the tree about forty minutes before dusk. She grabbed a mouthful of leaves, not daring to let them go or she may loose these ones as well by the time she returned to the ground.
She took a deep breath, turning her eyes up toward the darkening sky. "Please! StormClan save me and let me safely reach the ground, if not for me then for DayClan. StormClan guide me!" With her prier finished she turned and headed down. The going down was much much slower and it was already deep night by the time she was a quarter of the way down. It was here that she realized where exactly she was. Here eyes widened when she recognized the single branch. This si where he had lost his footing. Where Blackberry had fallen!
She yelled at herself to calm down, to slow her furiously beating heart. Her left paw searched the bark for a foothold. Despite what she was telling herself, her heart beat faster once she realized there was nothing to grab. Her foot slipped and she could feel the loose bark plummeting toward the earth. She was clinging to the tree when she felt something light brush her foot. A leaf? Impossible, she hadn't dropped one and there where no branches here.
Again it brushed the soft pad of her paw. She realized that whatever it was trying to show her here to put her paw. Knowing she had no other choice but to trust it -help or instinct?- she followed the touch until she found a hold, a little farther than she would have liked, but it was solid.
She going was even slower than it had been before. After a few saves from her guide she realized her life was completely in it's hands. She followed it to a T, not moving unless she had an ok from the creature. It was well past Moonhigh once her paw touched soled earth.
Her eyes widened when she realized she could drop to the ground. Her breathing was heavy, then it hit her. She had made it! She glanced around frantically for her savior, finally finding him. He was large and mostly black with beautiful purple eyes that she had only seen in one other creature. It's back looked as though it had been splashed with purple paint, she same shade as his eyes.
She realized with a start that her beloved mentor, Blackberry, had come back to guide her int he form of a butterfly.
